Jessica Berndt
Having modeled as a teenager, Jessica was introduced to the world of beauty and makeup artistry. Realizing that she preferred being on the other side of the camera, she began apprenticing under the artists she had worked with as a model. It wasn’t long before Jessica was getting her own job offers; first doing test and head shots for up and coming models and actresses, then working on set for film, runway, and editorial work. In 1999, Jessica moved to Providence RI to be with her (now) husband.
Jessica’s Philosophy on Makeup
“Of course there are times when we can use cosmetics to transform ourselves into completely different people. Most of the time however, we are simply wearing makeup as a way to present our best possible selves. I believe that if we look at ourselves honestly, taking the time to acknowledge the things that we find beautiful about ourselves, and then taking a moment to accept the features that we don’t consider beautiful, makeup can be an incredibly powerful tool. We can blend away the things that we don’t love about our appearance yet, and draw attention to those features that we are proud of. Perhaps, as we continue, we may be lucky enough to discover that we aren’t partly beautiful, we are absolutely beautiful.”
